Brachytherapy Arrives At The London Clinic

27 July 2007

Professor Stephen Langley, consultant urologist at The London Clinic, performed brachytherapy for the first time at the Clinic in July. The minimally invasive procedure treats early, localised prostate cancer by implanting radioactive seeds into the prostate to destroy the cancer cells.

Brachytherapy is an important addition to The London Clinic’s existing specialist service offering to treat prostate cancer.

Existing services include robotic surgery to remove the prostate laparoscopically, using the world-renowned da Vinci Surgical System.
