Independent Healthcare Awards 2008
The London Clinic is proud to announce that
Mike Sims, Purchasing Manager, has won the Management Excellence
Award at Laing & Buisson’s Independent Healthcare Awards for
2008.
Laing & Buisson is a leading independent provider of
healthcare data and holds its annual Independent Healthcare Awards
to celebrate and promote the achievements of independent healthcare
organisations and their staff. The prestigious black tie gala
awards dinner took place in London on Tuesday 16 September 2008 and
was hosted by comedienne Jo Brand.
The Management Excellence category looks at
identifying the manager or executive that has made the single most
effective contribution towards the success of a team, unit or
company.

On receiving his award, Mike Sims
commented:
“The Management Excellence award covers the
full range of management activities, from clinical to support
services and general management. I felt that the combination of
hard work by my own department, in conjunction with other clinical
managers, has succeeded in improving the service we provide to our
patients and to the clinical departments themselves. The wide-scale
introduction of Procedure Packs into clinical areas has made great
improvements in supplies management, increased patient safety and
not least, made financial improvements for The London Clinic. I was
absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award, but acknowledge
the team effort that was involved in achieving it.”
