The London Clinic installs new EndoALPHA
theatre
An Endo-ALPHA theatre has recently been installed at The
London Clinic, adding to its existing and comprehensive theatre
offering for patients.
The EndoALPHA is a single, integrated
endoscopic surgery suite that allows surgeons to combine imaging,
ultrasound, electrosurgery, robotics and networking through a
simplified, centralised system. It is suited to any technique or
procedure from hepatobiliary surgery and liver resections to ENT
and gynaecological surgery.
The system at The London Clinic will be
primarily used to perform the following procedures: gallbladder,
biliary and pancreas surgery, colorectal, gynaecological and hernia
surgery. It was first used in August to perform a complex
laparoscopic hernia operation.
Mr Satvinder Mudan, a consultant general
surgeon at The London Clinic, comments: “This new system realises
the true potential of IT and imaging for advanced surgical
practice and will ensure The London Clinic can offer its patients
the very best in cutting-edge technology.
“It will have a direct and positive impact on
most, if not all of our cases, offering a safer and far more
comfortable experience for the patient. Of most benefit to the
surgeon, is its improved image quality to highest HD standards, in
addition to its ability to provide much more precise and
comprehensive record-keeping.”
