Chin Augmentation
The chin is crucial in defining facial proportions. As you age,
the skin may become loose and create a sagging effect or definition
is reduced by a receding chin.
To improve a receding chin and give more
profile definition, a silicone chin implant can be inserted just
below the skin. Rejuvenating drooping skin around the chin is
termed a lower facelift.
Process
The surgery will require a local or general
anaesthetic depending on each individual procedure.
Chin implant
Incisions are generally made inside the mouth at the corners of
the lips, occasionally the surgeon may prefer to make an incision
directly under the chin. The surgeon then creates a pocket under
the skin into which a silicone implant is inserted.
