Facelift
A full facelift will address both a loss in
skin elasticity and cumulative skin damage caused by sun exposure
and the natural ageing process. Our surgeons are sensitive to
achieving subtle aesthetic results in all facial surgery
procedures.
Process
A facelift will usually require a general
anaesthetic and overnight stay. This will depend on each individual
procedure, patient and surgeon preference.
The exact surgical technique will vary
according to each surgeon. Most of our surgeons will begin by
separating the skin from the underlying muscle and fat. Incisions
are made in the hairline. Excess fat will then be removed before
the surgeon proceeds to tighten the facial muscles and membranes.
The skin is then pulled back and any excess skin removed.
Post-surgery
Recuperation will depend on the individual, but you will be
required to take two weeks off work immediately following your
surgery, during which time you must also avoid any strenuous
activity. Swelling and bruising may take up to three weeks to
disappear completely and you will need to limit sun exposure during
this time.
