Nose jobs, rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty
The London Clinic surgeons specialising in facial
plastic surgery provide a comprehensive service for evaluation and
treatment of all cosmetic and functional nasal
problems.
Nose jobs are sometimes desired because the patient dislikes the
appearance or dimensions of their nose, but many have a functional
problem, often associated with injury, a deviated nose or an
internal structural problem, all of which may be worsened by an
allergy or a sinus problem.

Surgery
Rhinoplasty is normally undertaken under general anaesthetic.
Surgery may involve grafts and, depending on the assessment, is
either performed through the nostrils or via a small incision under
the base of the nose.
Post-operation
After the operation, some discomfort is to be expected, and
painkillers are often required for
a few days. The nose may feel very congested, especially if
septal surgery is involved. The external nasal splint is usually
removed after seven days. Practical considerations include the
patient making sure the nose is not knocked for several days, and
not undertaking air travel for about ten days.
